Latest Sewing Projects

Here are some of the projects I have made in the last couple of months. Lots of baby blankets, since we are in the midst of a baby boom in my family! This makes a dent in the pile of material that I have downstairs (I love buying material), but I still have many more projects to work on.

fleece blanket for me, nice and warm

Small woolly blanket, woolly fleece on one side and faux suede on the other,
good for laying on the floor or covering the car seat

Small baby boy blanket, I had some extra material from another blanket,
green sweatshirt on the back

I have had this blanket for a while, sweatshirt material on the back, if you use a fleece or sweatshirt material on one side, you don't need to put any batting in the middle, great way to make baby blankets!

Baby boy blanket, blue bubble fleece on the back

I love this material!

Baby girl blanket, soft bubble fleece on one side,
this actually turned out a little big in size,
could almost fit a toddler bed, but they she can use it longer

Pink bubble fleece and cream fleece detail shot

Front side, pink and green

I love this material too!

Diaper bag for Jami, green is her favorite color
Side one

Side two, similar, but the material is a little different
pockets on both ends, good for a bottle or keys

Other end pocket, big enough for travel wipes

Zipper top so nothing falls out if the bag gets turned upside down!
Inside, pocket on one side that is half the height of the bag,
good for diapers, these are itty bitty newborn size

another pocket on the other side that is 3/4 the height of the bag

Visit to Breanna

We went to see Jamin, Alyssa and Breanna while they were in the hospital. Everyone was doing fine. Jack, Sue, Tami and Sandy were also there and the nurse came in to do her assessment while we were there so I didn't get very many pictures, but here are the few I did get.

Miller Family Gathering 2009 (Denny's Side)

This year Nate's Dad's side of the family wasn't able to get very many members together for Thanksgiving, for a variety of reasons. It did work out that we could all meet up at Denny and Debbie's on the Saturday after Christmas. Here are some pics from that day.

The usual bunch of suspects, hanging out in the livingroom.

Debbie organizing the show, telling everyone where to put the food.

Just missed it, Quincy just launched something.

What is Derek doing, and why is Denny grinning?

There it is, the flying monkey. You make a slingshot out of your pointer and index finger and launch it at the target of your choice. The monkey screams out a monkey call as it goes flying through the air. Great for making people jump and waking up napping father-in-laws :)

This was one of the most entertaining things of the day!
Guys always like to throw things at each other.

Derek reading one of his favorite books :)

My lady's craft this year, fleece mittens, pretty easy to make

Denny, Alan and Colin went out sledding;
Alan is dumping Colin off the back of the sled as he pulls him back up the hill

This was a fun project, like a 3D puzzle

The build team, David, Libby, Colin and myself.
So far we have the base and the motor in place.

Libby adding an arm

The Octopus ride all put together

Everyone admiring our work

Marshmallow Snowman going for a ride

The guys were real helpful putting this together!

There, we are setting up a mini Carnival!
Ferris Wheel and Octopus! I wish I had a clip of them running.

Thanksgiving 2009

I don't have many pictures from Thanksgiving time, but this is what I have. Justin, Katrina and the boys came up to visit and we were all down at Gina and Richard's house. Then we went up to Chris and Mary's for Thanksgiving Day. And back to Mom and Dad's/Gina and Richard's for the rest of the weekend.

Baby Jackson sleeping, ssshhhhhhh, he finally fell asleep!

Mommy and Jackson, reading a book

Gina and I made a big batch of lefse, mmmmmm, I will have to see if I can find the recipe and post it on the Messy Kitchen Blog

Fresh lefse

Spread on butter and brown sugar

roll up

I guess Gina didn't want her picture taken

I know it has been forever since I have posted anything, nearly 2 months. I loaded two months worth of pictures from my camera onto my computer and it is just a mountain to post everything that you have missed. So, I will start with something small and funny, Nate's haircut.
