Juggling.

We had Aaron, Jami and Chloe over yesterday for supper and a game. To keep Chloe entertained I brought up a bunch of toys from downstairs and happened to grab some juggling dinosaurs as well. After our game Nate decided to juggle a bit which was quite amusing to Chloe and she decided to give it a try herself. Very cute.

Chloe held a toy in each hand and swung her arms up and down, rubbing the two toys together.

Treats...

Here are a couple of treats we have enjoyed lately.

Coconut

Spread it out on a cookie sheet

Toast under the broiler

Sprinkle over vanilla ice cream, also great with caramel sauce

Molasses Cookies

Mmmmmmm.

Here is the recipe for those who like molasses cookies. I make the whole batch, scoop the dough, roll them in sugar and freeze what I don't bake.

1 1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt
4 1/2 c. flour

Bake @350 for 10-13 minutes, until the tops of the cookies crack.

Rochester Half-Marathon

Nate ran in the Rochester half-marathon at the end of August. He finished 326th with a time of 1:56:58. He has been training for months now and is planning on running the Twin Cities Marathon on October 5th. Good Luck, Honey!

This is Oystein, he and his wife Alicia were working with Nate as interns at IBM over the summer. He also ran the half-marathon and finished with a time of 2:10:49.

We had good times with Alicia and Oystein over the summer, we would get together in the evenings and make a nice supper and play board games. They now moved back to Michigan and both work at the university.
